Front Plank & Super Plank - Kinetic U Exercise Series

"Hey team, welcome back to Kinetic U. Today we'll be going over a front plank. So this is great for activation, especially activating that intrinsic core under a little bit more stress. So you'll set up on your forearms and knees, so you're in a kneeling front plank. Now if you feel a lotta challenge here, you can hang out here and just do a kneeling front plank to start. Or if you're feeling confident, you can lengthen those legs out and hold as you take three...two to three deep breaths through the belly. So you're really focusing on that breath and making sure that that belly is expanding and compressing as you breathe. You're not there, you're not holding it for a minute and trying to crank out as long as you can go and hold your breath. So the focus is to really get that breath moving.

Now to make it more challenging, you can add in the lats, the glutes, and the quads into it as well to make it a super plank. So you'll set up the same way, find your neutral spine, and then as you hold up here, you'll still breathe the same way, but this time you're gonna hug your elbows down to your feet, squeeze your glutes, and fully extend the knees, so you're squeezing those quads, inhaling, and exhaling through the abdomen just the same way. And then again to rest out a bit, you can bring your knees down, you can bring the hips down, and relax. And you'll do a couple more sets of that. All right, have fun with that one, team."
