Firetruck Hill and Mt Walker and Camp!

Our first time taking on the right hand line of Firetruck Hill, it wasn't for the feint hearted. Plenty of sends to kick off an unreal trip. We had a pub lunch at Rydall before heading in to the bush and tackling Firetruck hill. The right line has a large rocky ramp that requires careful wheel placement, full commitment and a few berries to get up, then once you are up there are several washouts that make for some big wheel lifts. The left hand side of the top section has some rocky sections that keep you on your toes.

Our camp was across the other side of the river towards Mt Walker. We picked a nice open area up above the water. Nick cooked up some HUGE burgers with his special mayo followed by a choccy dessert damper.

Next morning it was straight to the bottom section of Mt Walker. It is super loose followed by two gnarly rock sections. Nick's GU on 35s with a front locker made it up. Phil had a crack in his 80 series on 33s with a front locker, he ended up winching the last section. Crazy climb in any case!

Next stop we checked out the various mushroom/fungi varieties that were growing in the pines.

This video is just the start of the trip - we continue on to Sunny Corner and Turon for some epic camping and some sends up Jackass Hill.
