Описание к видео Jim Vaughan from JustSplit.com on Connecticut and Bradley Airport

Jim Vaughan from JustSplit.com on Connecticut and Bradley Airport.
Well, what stood out for me in Connecticut was the Mystic Seaport, especially. It's a wonderful place to visit. It's quite historic, it's a working shipyard as well as a wonderful maritime museum and it really looks at the life and times of whaling and the whalers in particular. It's lots of artifacts from the old ships, and it really brings it to life. The experience was wonderful, we met some great characters there, who had great stories to tell. And then, when we looked at the working shipyard, they have a major restoration project there at the moment, restoring the Mayflower II. So that was really fantastic to watch. It was at a lovely pace, it was relaxed, and yet there was a lot of wonderful restoration work going on. So for me, it's a great place to visit, particularly for families. And a great place to laze around, almost. First time to Connecticut, yeah. And real revelation. It's funny, I had no idea how many things there are to do in this region, and how nice the people are. I mean, the people are genuinely welcoming and friendly, willing to talk about everything that they know about the region. And they're proud of the region, so that was great. Well, it's a real experience destination. And by that, I mean it's for somebody who's looking to do things during an active holiday, not a really busy holiday, but over a week people will find so much to do, meet some great people, enjoy some great food, and of course they have local wines as well. Part of our trip we visited the Saltwater Winery. That was just a little distance from Mystic, Mystic itself is a lovely town. And as I said, the winery was just a lovely experience as well. The accommodation that I saw was all very high quality, I thought, and would really appeal to the Irish traveler. You know, it wasn't the low end of the market. The people running the establishments really wanted to look after their guests and ensure they had a good experience. And again, all the locations that we stayed were central, so for any Irish passengers, Irish visitors to the region, they would have an easy time, on a fly drive for example, moving around. And of course, both the I 95 is a one access route to New York or you could go to Boston by train, again, a very short time. About an hour and a half, either New York or Boston. So, very central. Well of course, Yale is iconic in a way. We all have our own sort of image before we visited Yale, we have an image of a sort of a stuffy, maybe, place. But it's really again, welcoming place, nice feel, nice atmosphere in the area around the college, and the tour of Yale college was really inspiring. It's free, which is great, and the historic buildings, almost all, or each have a story to tell. So, I found that really interest, since Aer Lingus opened up the route in the last couple of years, it's really opened up, Bradley is the new gateway to the region. A region that we didn't know about in the past. The airport itself is really easy to navigate. It's relatively compact. The staff are all friendly, as airport staff go, and they make it, the experience through the airport, getting their passengers through the airport quite easy.
