our people were rescued from the end of the Frankfort Lighthouse pier Sunday night, according to the Frankfort Fire Department.

Chief Mike Cederholm said those four people included a 14-year-old girl, her dad and two fishermen.

"We don't really know what they were thinking at the time. We have a little bit of compassion at that time when they made that decision," said Chief Cederholm. "They had an activity they were focused on, and that was the fishing, and the fish had been biting really well, so that was a good draw, and it's a beautiful area. I mean, but it changed, it changed fast."

Chief Cederholm said weather conditions and wind changes caused tall waves to crash over the length of the lighthouse pier.
