In a series of strategic moves, several high-ranking officers in the Pakistan army have been assigned to new key positions. Six major generals of the Pakistan Army have been promoted to the rank of lieutenant general and they have been assigned new responsibilities. upon promotion from Major General to Lt General Rank , , Lt Gen Ahsan Gulrez has been appointed Corps Commander Multan (Corp ll), Lt Gen Arshad Naseem has been appointed Surgeon General/Director General Medical Services (Inter-Services), GHQ, Lt Gen Amir Najam will be President of the National Defence University, (NDU) Islamabad. Lt Gen Tabbasum Habib has been made Director General Joint Staff (DG JS) at JS HQ, Rawalpindi, Lt Gen Hassan Khattak has been posted as Quarter Master General (QMG) at the GHQ while Lt Gen Azhar Waqas has become Adjutant General (AG), GHQ, Rawalpindi.
