Orphans Coldplay [ Cover ] . Performed live on the Appalachian Mountain Dulcimer by Richard Edwards from Malta & Micsy his Jack Russell terrier

The Appalachian Mountain Dulcimer is a rare instrument that originates from the Appalachian Mountains. The sound is a cross between a sitar and an acoustic guitar. A relatively easy instrument to play and its perfect for people that want to learn how to play an instrument quickly. Normally the mountain dulcimer is played in a traditional way however Richard enjoys playing more commercial songs on it.

Richard Edwards is a singer songwriter from Malta, Richard plays the acoustic guitar, piano, bass, percussion and the Appalachian mountain dulcimer. He was lucky enough to represent Malta alongside his folk band Firelight in the Eurovision song contest 2014 with the song entitled [ Coming Home ] which was written by Richard. It was the first and only time (to date) that the Appalachian mountain dulcimer took to the Eurovision stage. The same Mountain dulcimer that Richard used in Eurovision was later auctioned and sold to raise money for a Maltese charity called Puttinu Cares.
