2024 AMA East Hare scramble @ NYOA Seneca Highlands Watkins Glen/ Odessa NY 50+ Super Senior A-class

What a wonderful Fathers Day. Beautiful weather and racing bikes !
We had a healthy line with 16 of us taking off together. I like the way NYOA does their bike numbers - as our line was all 700's or a day-rider with a '7X1' like myself, or '7X3' like my buddy. It makes it a little easier knowing who you're racing with. ...that is if the numbers are accurate and/or stickers they give you are put on the bike. For instance, one guy i was riding with had 8xx something on the side number plates but then I noticed in my rear-view camera footage he had 7xx on the front plate. ?? However, my normal race number is 626 - which is what's on the back of my jersey - so I'm sure that was confusing to some also.
I have the first lap and then a little more footage of some tight action with others in my class. I also got a lot of rear footage this race because I didn't knock my camera over by crashing early on. ...not that I didn't crash - but not too bad. I think i fell once a lap when I caught a root or rut wrong - or hit a stump trying to get back on course. lol
I liked the layout of the 13+mile course a lot. The fields got a little monotonous with all the short, tight turn sections though. This was a true 2 hour +1 lap race, as my total race time was 2 hrs. 48 minutes. I was able to get all 4 of the leaders laps and finished 5th in class and 110th of 435 riders. I must have lost a position on the last lap, as I had been running 4th the previous two laps and finished behind the 4th place guy by 19 seconds. I didn't catch his number when he got by - not that I would have had the energy to do much about it. I had spent myself pretty good repassing and trying to stay ahead of a guy I was going back and forth with during the previous 2 laps.
I'm doing a 24 hour race (solo this year) at this property in July, so I hope they keep some of the same sections as I liked this layout better then the previous 24 hours here.
