Minnesota Somali Fraud EXPOSED: Woman With Autism Evicted While Provider Bills $12,630/Month
A disabled woman with autism was evicted by sheriff's deputies—despite paying her rent—while her Medicaid provider billed taxpayers $12,630 per month for services she barely received. This is the story of Jama Mohamod, American Home Health Care LLC, and Minnesota's $180 million Integrated Community Supports fraud crisis.
Sky Hansen paid her rent. But American Home Health Care pocketed the money and never paid the building. When sheriff's deputies showed up with an eviction order, body camera footage captured the moment Sky was forced out of her home with just what she could carry. She's been homeless ever since.
Meanwhile, the company was billing Medicaid $421 per day—claiming to provide 12 hours of daily services. Sky says most days? Two hours. Maybe.
Her neighbor Cain Pence had it worse. Billed $276 per day for eight hours of care—he got zero services for months. He has timestamped photos proving he was out of state on days the company billed for services. Total fraud: $75,000 in ten months.
The owner? Jama Mohamod operates from his Maple Grove mansion with an indoor basketball court. Despite DHS investigations confirming fraud, no criminal charges have been filed because all the federal prosecutors resigned amid DOJ controversy.
This is part of what U.S. Attorney Joseph Thompson called "industrial scale fraud" in Minnesota—$9 billion stolen across 14 Medicaid programs since 2018. The ICS program exploded from $4.6 million in 2021 to nearly $180 million in 2025.
