STEAM LOCO (44871) LMS BLACK 5 RESCUED FROM SWANAGE BY CLASS 47 (47812) AND TAKEN TO CREWE. 04/07/24

Early this morning 4th July 2024 the Black 5 Steam Locomotove (44871) began it's journey from Swanage to Crewe Heritage Centre at 08:20am after being rescued and pulled by the Class 47 Diesel Locomotive (47812) operated by West Coast Railways. The Black 5 had arrived in Swanage as the Swanage Belle on the 26th June 2024 but was detattched and held at Swanage as she had in fact broken down with mechanical problems etc. The Class 47 and (44871) passed by Redbridge Railway Station Southampton at 10:03am heading towards Southampton Central Station where the Class 47 was detatched and done a run around to be reattched in front of the Black 5 (44871) then at about 10:20am headed back down the line passing Redbridge at 10:52am and was switched onto the Romsey Andover Line towards Crewe.
