Amp Research PowerSteps are simply amazing on my Chevy Silverado Trail Boss! These power running boards are By Far my Favorite Upgrade!
Today I show you how to install the best running boards on the market. If you are looking for premium electric running boards for your truck, look no further than the Amp Power Steps. These power running boards deploy when you open any of the doors on your truck. They retract 2 seconds after you close the door. They come with a 5-year/60,000mile warranty. The install was not difficult at all, but it is very time consuming. The amp steps also come with LED lights that illuminate when you open the doors, but I decided that my automatic OPT7 Underglow lighting was plenty of light. The board is 6 inches wide which gives you a lot of room to step on.
When installing these power running boards make sure you torque screws to the proper specs and don't over tighten. It was a little difficult to find a 1/4in torque that went down to 36in LBS. I finally came across a Pittsburgh torque wrench from Harbor Freight that did the job. It is really great that these are plug and play via the OBDII port. The installation process is not hard and is something you can do right in your driveway.
