Making a Ladder Hinge to Lower Patients!

With the help of a local fire department we created a ladder hinge to demonstrate lowering a patient down from a second story. The ladder hinge would work well when you can not get a ladder truck to the location. You are able to rescue patients down with minimal effort and gets patients to safety.

Patient was secured to a backboard as well as being lashed into the basket. The basket was securely attached to the ladder beams on each side of the rung. Rope was secured to the top of the basket and taken back to the lowering system that was attached to an anchor on the roof.
