Legends:
1. Shiva Purana: A debate between Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva leads to Brahma’s arrogance. To curb Brahma's ego, Shiva manifests Bhairava, who cuts off one of Brahma's heads.
2. Demon Wars: Bhairava was created by Shiva to destroy demons, leading to the creation of the Ashtanga Bhairavas and their consorts, the Ashta Matrikas. From them emerged 64 Bhairavas and 64 Yoginis.
