Hedy Schleifer introduces one of her most common closure rituals, The Four-Minute Gratitude Ritual. In this ritual, a couple lets each other know how grateful they are for each other. A husband and wife practice this ritual, beginning with the wife. The wife of the couple shares what she is grateful for in her husband, touching on many different aspects, including his parenting and his artistic pursuits. Hedy also ends by asking the couple what her most important contribution has been to them, to highlight the importance of interdependence and appreciation. Hedy explains that research has shown a good relationship has a 5:1 ratio of gratitude to criticism. Hedy also explains that the qualities a couple will appreciate in her are also within them and that by identifying what they appreciate in her, they can identify it within themselves. The video closes with scenes of the couple enjoying each other's company in a beautiful garden.
