Frankfurt Fashion SDG Summit
As the fashion industry embarks on its resilient recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, it is essential that sustainability is prioritized throughout the entirety of the global supply chain. Now is the time to make peace with nature, abolish social inequalities, and seize the opportunities of digital technology. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), 17 urgent calls to action adopted by all UN member states, provide a guiding framework for the achievement of these priorities.

Recognizing the integral role that the fashion and textile sector holds with respect to advancing the SDGs, Messe Frankfurt is taking steps to lead the industry to a more resilient and sustainable future. These efforts include requiring all exhibitors to commit to the SDGs by 2023 and the introduction of a Sustainability Award for outstanding, innovative and sustainable design. In 2021, the first Frankfurt Fashion SDG Summit launches, presented by the Conscious Fashion Campaign in collaboration with the United Nations Office for Partnerships. This single-day Summit brought together leading industry stakeholders along with United Nations representatives and public officials to share their insights and motivate the fashion sector to take action towards future sustainability. www.sdgsummit.fashion
