Описание к видео Flow Diverting Stent | BAF Research Grant Recipient A. Dmytriw, MD explains

A flow diverting stent is a tiny metal mesh tube that's inserted into the blood vessel to help keep the aneurysm from rupturing. It was developed to treat hard to fix brain aneurysms such as ones with a wide neck.

The use of flow diverters began in the 2010s and information surrounding their efficacy was not easily accessible during this time. With the help from a 2017 BAF Research Grant, Adam Dmytriw, MD, from Mass General Brigham explains how he helped doctors around the world get the flow diversion answers they needed.
