With the help of WoodGreen Community Services and without providing a clue…
We surprised new families in Canada with a trip to the Zoo!

With the holiday season around the corner, we wanted to create a day of meaningful memories for families in our community.  With the help from our friends at Woodgreen Community Services, we planned a special holiday surprise some of their clients who had recently arrived in Canada and hadn’t yet had the opportunity to visit the Toronto Zoo. But we didn’t want to simply give them passes, we wanted to give them a once-in-a-time VIP experience that they would remember and cherish forever.Having no idea where they were going for their holiday adventure, our special guests curiously boarded a specially wrapped TTC bus and were delighted to be greeted by smiling Zoo staff … and a very special holiday donkey!The day began with a welcome brunch, where the families got to know one another, spend time with Explorer Bear and unwrap their gifts. Next up were the VIP behind the scenes tours, which they fed camels, got up close and personal with giraffes, met polar bears, and more!
 
It was a day full of joy and smiling faces, and we couldn’t be more grateful our new guests enjoyed their first trip to the Toronto Zoo.
