World No.1 Iga Swiatek won the year's first WTA 1000 title at the Qatar TotalEnergies Open – her 18th career singles trophy!

The Pole became the first player in nearly nine years to win a Hologic WTA Tour event three consecutive times, since Serena Williams conquered Miami between 2013-2015.

Swiatek got past Sorana Cirstea and Ekaterina Alexandrova before taking out Victoria Azarenka in the quarterfinals.

In the final against Elena Rybakina, she battled back from a double-break down in the first set and saved a set point in the tiebreak, then went on to snap a three-match losing streak against the Kazakh.
