2 Minute Tuesday: In the previous episode I talked about seven tips to keep ice in your cooler longer, and today I'm going to be elaborate on one of those tips, the first tip that I gave which is Pre-cool your cooler. I think this is super important and possibly one of the most critical steps to keep ice in your cooler longer. That's why I wanted to cover this topic again and expand on it. There's a lot of simple prepping steps that can go into this and you have to have a little bit of forethought to do it. However, I figured I had this expensive cooler I might as well be using it to the best of its ability.

Why do you want to pre-cool your cooler? The easy answer is, so you don't use the items you want to keep cold to cool your cooler. Use something like a sacrificial bag of ice, or what I prefer frozen water battles. Place these in the cooler a day before you plan on filling it. This will lower the inside temperature of the cooler drastically.

Once the cooler is cool, you can fill it using my other tips.
