Recorded in public, this interpretation by Sviatoslav Richter is one of the must-see performances. There are few things in the piano repertoire as powerful as "The Hut on Fowls legs / Baba-Yagá" and "The Great Gate of Kiev". Richter's way of playing, on the verge of breaking hammers, is perhaps not taught in any school, you have to bare all your soul and go deep inside yourself to be able to express all the magic of this score... LEGENDARY.
