Описание к видео Repressed Trauma = Familiar Pain... | What's Love Got To Do With It | by Sofia A. Wellman | Ep10

Repressed trauma = familiar pain because when we don't deal with our past trauma, we replicate our past in the present. Unprocessed trauma is trigger-happy, trapping our brain in a familiar loop of fight, flight, or freeze reactions. Our brains are drawn to the familiar, not because it feels good but because we know how to navigate it. By being drawn to negative relationships or turning a positive relationship into a negative one, we create the familiar pattern not only in an attempt to heal the past but also because we know no other way.

This approach adds more trauma to the unresolved trauma we've been carrying. Eventually, the burden becomes too heavy, and we break. The good news is that we can rewire our brains at any age. We change the ineffective cycle of repeating the same pain when we heal our past. We do this first by confronting the past we've been avoiding because of the painful memories attached to it or the shame it dredges up. In this episode, we watch an example of two women taking this first courageous step by confronting their past trauma. If we deal with the past, we can remap the future rather than continue to repeat the same patterned reactions that are familiar.

Come on a captivating, self-healing exploration into the intricate world of love with “What's Love Got To Do With It." This thought-provoking journey takes a deep dive into how our individual attachment styles influence our relationships, weaving together the realms of science, psychology, and spirituality to offer a holistic understanding of the human experience.
