The Incident: On September 23, 2020, during a standard custody exchange of my infant son, my ex-partner utilized a tactic known as Triangulation. She brought her cousin, Ray Davis—an active duty police officer—to the exchange for the explicit purpose of intimidation.

The Tactic: Listen closely. Ray attempts to establish dominance immediately ("GO!") while my ex-partner complies silently. He then attempts to enforce boundaries regarding his mother ("Aunt D"), triangulating a third-party family conflict into a parenting exchange. When I refuse to be intimidated, he resorts to vague threats ("The bullshit... All that stuff") and gaslighting ("You know exactly what I'm talking about").

Why this matters: This recording demonstrates how abusers use Proxy Recruitment. They manipulate third parties (especially those with authority) to do their dirty work, allowing them to keep their hands clean while the target is terrorized.
