Comet 3I ATLAS – Something Strange Is Happening Near Jupiter – I Took a PICTURE

Most comets in our solar system are icy bodies.
As they approach the Sun, they warm up, release gas and water vapor, and develop the familiar coma and tail.
They follow predictable paths and return again and again on stable orbits around the Sun.

Comet 3I ATLAS is different.

This is an interstellar object — a visitor from outside our solar system — and it is experiencing Jupiter’s environment for the first time. While 3I ATLAS is not entering Jupiter’s radiation belts, it does pass through Jupiter’s vast gravitational influence, a region that extends tens of millions of kilometers into space.
