ASPJ Webinar: Webinar: "In the Shadow of March ‘68" - Dr Lucy Taksa In conversation with Rabbi Yitzhak Rapoport - Reflections on the exodus of Polish Jews in 1968,

Yitzhak Rapoport is a Rabbi in the Jewish Community of Warsaw. He also serves as Rosh Kollel of the Torah MiTzion Kollel in Warsaw.

He was born in Stockholm in 1977, the son of a Polish Jewish mother from Sosnowiec who emigrated from Poland after the events of March 1968. From birth, Polish was spoken in his family home, and the Polish language is close to his heart.

Yitzhak Rapoport completed five years of rabbinical studies at Yeshivat Hamivtar in Israel in 2002, after which he took up the position of Rabbi of the Jewish Community of Oslo, Norway from 2002-2006. He subsequently worked as Rabbi of the Jewish Community of Wroclaw, Poland, for five years, until 2011. He also served as an emissary of the Israeli organization Shavei Israel. In the summer of 2011, he returned to Israel. In Israel, he continued working for Shavei Israel, and also worked for the Noahide World Center.

In August 2021, he returned to Poland at the invitation of the Chief Rabbi of Poland, Michael Schudrich, and began working at the Jewish Community in Warsaw.

His wife's name is Chaya. She also comes from Poland and, like his mother, is from Sosnowiec.
