Ep. #13 | Steve Hill part 1

Описание к видео Ep. #13 | Steve Hill part 1

Here is the first of two episodes where I get to spend some time with Steve Hill, a great guitarist who I have admired over the years. I have always wanted to get a chance to talk about guitar with Steve, and explore his very unique technique and language.
We talk about having both been young blues musicians coming up at the same time in Montreal in the '90s, we talk about our picking techniques, and in particular Steve's very unique way of picking with his fingers. We talk about playing in open position in the key of B in standard tuning, Steve shows me the various open tunings he uses, and we end with a Muddy Waters inspired jam!

Steve Hill has a new album out now called Dear Illusion available here:

We had minor technical issues with both the image and audio in some spots, so thanks in advance for your understanding, but I don't think it will get in the way with enjoying this very cool musical moment!

Stay tuned for part 2 of this guitar session with Steve Hill, there's lots more guitar talk to come, and another fun jam, where we exchange guitars, which I particularly enjoyed!

Un énorme merci à François Péloquin pour la conception de ces épisodes, et pour le tournage, Stéphane Grimm pour le mix audio, et Stéphanie Grégoire pour le montage de ces épisodes avec invités.
