Unboxing Schumacher Portable Power XPF400

Описание к видео Unboxing Schumacher Portable Power XPF400

This Schumacher XPF400 device "boosted" a partially-drained car-battery in a car's engine compartment on a cold morning. The car manual (booklet) recommended connecting red clamp to red battery post, and black clamp to chassis metal for any "boosts", but this did not work today. Instead, the red clamp was put on red post (positive, +ve) and the black clamp on black post (negative, -ve) of the car's battery. After leaving the car hood up, and allowing about 15 minutes for the booster battery to top-up the car's battery, the car started up fine when the car ignition key was turned. The Portable Power unit truly is nicely portable, and easy to carry (even with thick winter gloves on) because it has a nice ergonomic handle with lots of space underneath the handle for one's gloves or mittens to grip the handle.

Note that unlike other units made by Schumacher, this model XPF400 does not have an ON/OFF switch. There is one big black switch on the front of the unit, but that just turns an LED emergency light on and off. You might notice in the video that there is a gray bar that looks like a switch under the green or red flashing lights, but it is not a switch. You just push that gray button and it will tell you if the unit's internal battery is charged. The gray button is not a slide switch, and it is not a toggle. So, the only way to "start" the battery working is to attach it to your car"s battery (red clamp to red post, then black clamp to black post). To remove the unit from the car, reverse the order (remove black clamp first, then remove red clamp second).
