University of Bristol Business School academics, Professor Agnes Nairn and Dr Raffaello Rossi, have been researching the emotional effects of gambling advertising on children. Their #research is influencing policymakers to change the outdated regulations around #gambling advertising to children on #socialmedia.

They established all the gambling accounts in the UK that have a social media account. They were able to analyse and collect over 800,000 gambling adverts, discovered over 40,000 children follow gambling accounts on Twitter and that over 300,000 engagements on these #socialmedia posts were from under 24 year olds.

Now, the government are updating the gambling regulations and this #research can play a huge part in that.
