This patient Q-tipped her ears on a daily basis. Wax built up and was impacted to the point that the ear could not maintain healthy skin and infection set in. The infection had been present long enough that granulation tissue started forming which can be painful and problematic. Treatment is debridement and topical antibiotic ear drops.
