Endogenous Causes (Internal)
These occur when the body produces too much cortisol on its own:

Pituitary adenoma – A benign tumor in the pituitary gland that secretes excess ACTH.

Adrenal tumors – Tumors in the adrenal glands that directly increase cortisol production.

Exogenous Causes (External)
