Lesson 254
Let every voice but God's be still in me.
We are all too familiar with our own thoughts of separation, guilt, anger, and hatred. Of remorse, resentment, and resignation.
Today, we let all of those thoughts ~ every thought BUT God’s ~ to be still and then they recede into the nothingness from which they came.
How will I know which are ego thoughts and which are not?
Throughout this Course, our Elder Brother tells us that there are signs we know, which tell us we are listening to the ego's voice, not God’s.
In CH 23, he tells us: “There is a stab of pain, a twinge of guilt, and above all, a loss of peace. This you know well.” Tx:23.52
So we might ask ourselves: Am I calm?
Is there a sense of Love, deep and quiet?
And above all - Do these thoughts lift the veil that hides the face of Christ?
If not, our thoughts are of the ego.
In our Lesson for today, we are told:
“When such thoughts occur, we quietly step back and look at them, and then we let them go.
We do not want what they would bring with them. And so we do not choose to keep them. They are silent now.
And in the stillness, hallowed by His Love, God speaks to us and tells us of our will,
as we have chosen to remember Him.”
And so we pray, now, as we enter our 2-minute meditation:
“Blessed Father ~ Mother ~ God
Today I would but hear Your Voice.
In deepest silence, I would come to You to hear Your Voice and to receive Your Word.
I have no prayer but this:
I come to You to ask You for the truth.
And truth is but Your Will, which I would share with You today.”
[We take these thoughts now into our 2-minute meditation]

Closing Prayer
Father ~ Mother ~ God
Together, we open our hearts to you, Who are our Strength in these times of chaos.
From this Reading, we see how the world obeys the Laws of Chaos that are built on separation, fear, and guilt.
The 1st Law say that Truth is different for everyone, and yet from your Guidance, we know that:
“He [God] knows of one creation, one reality, one truth, and but one Son.
Nothing conflicts with oneness.” Tx:26.18
The world also has a 2nd law: everyone must sin and is deserving of our blame and attack, but you tell us in, WHAT IS SIN that:
“Sin is the home of all Illusions…issuing from thoughts that are untrue.” ST241 par 3
Yet, while YOUR Son plays the childish game of sin, YOU
“shines on him and loves him with an everlasting Love…” ST241 par 4
This Truth, then, nullifies the 3rd Law of Chaos: God must accept the Ego’s Definition of Sin. Reason tells us this cannot be true. YOU are the voice within that tells us:
“When you are afraid, be still and know that God is real and you are His beloved Son in whom He is well pleased. Do not let your ego dispute this because the ego cannot know what is as far beyond its reach as you are.” Tx:4.15
The world would also teach us the 4th Law of Chaos - that we have what we have taken.
But YOU have shown us - that ALL has been given to us by YOU that we may know You and know that our Will is Yours and that “All that I give is given to myself.” L126
Finally, the world tries to have us believe with a 5th Law: There is a substitute for Love.
But once again, the Voice within tells us, sweetly and fervently:
“There is no love but God's, and all of love is His. There is no other principle which rules where love is not. Love is a law without an opposite. Its wholeness is the power holding everything as one, the link between the Father and the Son, which holds them both forever as the same.” L127.3
And so ~ In the stillness, hallowed by your Love, we thank YOU for reminding us that we are safe in knowing there is One Truth, that sin is an illusion, that You Know not of the ego, and that Love has no opposite.
And so it is,
