Fireline Intensity: Mapping the risk posed by destructive bushfires to property in Australia

Описание к видео Fireline Intensity: Mapping the risk posed by destructive bushfires to property in Australia

Explore Fireline Intensity Potential raster data to better understand the risk of bushfire at your property in Australia.

The National Bushfire Intelligence Capability recently released a raster dataset of Fireline Intensity Potential for the Australian eastern states (excluding WA).

Fireline intensity (FLI) potential relates to the rate of energy released from an advancing firefront, indicating the severity of a bushfire’s behaviour, and is expressed as the rate of heat output per unit length (kW/m2) along the fire’s front.

I use ProRaster Scientific to convert the large COG rasters supplied by the NBIC into MRR format classified rasters, reducing the file size by a factor of 60X. One of these rasters is available for download on the Roberts Geospatial Engineering website. I then explore the dataset and relate the information to three locations where I have experienced historical fire behaviour.
