Gaviota Pier Diving

Some freediving and scuba diving off the old Gaviota Pier. No one is allow on this pier (structurally unstable and broken at the end) so it is a big roosting station for large flocks of pelicans. There were more fish under this pier than any other structure I've dove off of in Santa Barbara. Huge schools of different species of perch, Bat Rays, Angel Shark at one point, and even the elusive White Sea Bass to which I had never seen in the wild until this day. Some people call it the ghost fish due to it being so skittish of freedivers. Checked that boi off the bucket list.



These days its hard to get motivated to edit videos. I shoot something really good and then have to raise my standard for what I use in future videos. I'm now sitting on hours upon hours of footage that is cool but may be a little bit off lighting or not framed correctly or out of focus just a tad. I'm getting more nitpicky with what footage i decide to edit with. This video was my conscious saying "screw it throw something out there".
