You Can't Run Forever Darling: Chapter 1 | Animated Miniseries Compilation

An indie animated cozy horror story that follows Creedence as she tries to outrun a family curse. Try though she might, she can't run forever... and something is closing in on her fast. She'll need to uncover her family's hidden past in order to survive to see her future.

You Can't Run Forever Darling was originally released as a series of shorts in a vertical format. This is the full collected Chapter One (Parts 1 through 16). Chapter Two will begin releasing in early 2025.

This miniseries was originally released as a series of instagram reels over the course of about 7 months.
One of the things I loved most about the process was getting a chance to engage with people who were watching and theory crafting as the story progressed. I think following the story in real time was a special vibe that can't really be recreated, but I still wanted to collect everything together so that people can come back to watch it all in one place easily.
This collected Chapter One is a labour of love. It's awkward, because most of it is formatted vertically. It's got a strange rythm because each part was originally a short, and there were often weeks between episodes. But I think all of that is what makes this special, so thanks for allowing it to exist in this strange form.

A lot changed as I worked on this project, and there's so much I wanted to go back and fix in this, but in the end, I decided I wanted to preserve it as close to its original form as I could. There's something painful but nice about some of the parts I am the least proud of, but to be honest, they just remind me that I managed to pull this off on a crazy fast turn around time. The only thing I changed from the original releases are the "to be continued" end screens and one line of dialogue that for some reason was peaking more than the monster screeches (the first line in part 9!). And then adding in some artwork and an intro/outro to tie things together. This was so much fun to put together!
I know the credits were a bit Neil Breen of me, but I thought CJ and Anders deserved their own credit moments (as well as the thank you page), and I've always wanted to animated a little paper cut out scene like that.
