Описание к видео Coatbridge restaurant chef plans Facebook "cook alongs" during coronavirus lockdown

The head chef of a popular Coatbridge restaurant will be helping locked-down customers continue enjoying a taste of their favourite dishes – by sharing regular live “cook along” videos on Facebook.  Jimmy Hodgson, of Mondo on the town’s Main Street, will be sharing his expertise from his home kitchen and creating a mixture of his family’s favourites and versions of the restaurant’s best sellers while it and all other eateries are closed due to coronavirus restrictions.  He will reveal his first recipe and the required ingredients at 9am tomorrow (Friday, March 27), to give followers time to stock their cupboards ahead of the first cookalong taking place at 5pm on Saturday – and all the menus will be created using products currently in stock in supermarkets.  Future ingredients lists will continue being posted at 9am each Tuesday and Friday and the accompanying cooking sessions will then be held at 5pm the following day until Easter – and beyond if the lockdown period continues.   Jimmy told the Airdrie and Coatbridge Advertiser: “It’s just to give people something to do and to look forward to at a time when everybody is in the house and their plans are out the window.  “We’ve closed for three weeks and this is something for me look forward to as well; it’s something people can relate to and it’ll be relatively easy so that kids can join in and help.  “I’m going to do the cook alongs every Wednesday and Saturday – so on Mondays and Thursdays I’m going to see what I can get in the supermarket and then post the ingredients the next day to give people time to get anything they need.  “There’s no point in me going to supplier for items which people in the street then can’t get in the shops at the moment, so I’ll see what’s available and then adapt recipes or change what I’m doing if needed.  “Every session will have a main meal, because the idea is that we’re making dinner together and then you can sit down and eat at the end of it, but I’ll also do a couple of starters from next week onwards as well.  “I want it to come across as naturally as possible – I won’t be wearing chef’s whites, I’ll just be in my kitchen at home rather than a professional kitchen, and my wife Lauren will be helping as my camera crew!”   The planned “cook alongs” have gained hundreds of comments and likes since being posted on the Mondo Facebook page just a day ago, with fans in Monklands and further afield getting ready to join in.  A spokesperson for Mondo said: “Jimmy will be producing cook along videos from home to keep people’s spirits up, keep kids entertained and help fend off the lockdown boredom with healthy, home-cooked food.  “It’s a very difficult time for the restaurant trade and this is a small way during the lockdown that they can still engage with people of Coatbridge and Airdrie.  “All ingredients should hopefully be available in local supermarkets, but even if they aren’t, people can refer back to the recipes and videos at any time.”  Jimmy said of t
