Amazing palace. Beautiful architecture of Chettinad. Wow no words to express my happiness. Have seen in some Tamil movies.Kanadukathan Palace is known as Chettinad Maharaja's Palace. It was built by Dr.Annamalai Chettiyar, founder of Indian Bank and Annamalai University Chidambaram in 1912. It took 7 years to complete the construction. They used Burma teak for doors and windows. Thinnai and pillars were seen on the palace. They have vast courtyard for conducting functions such as marriage and religious rituals.
They stopped allowing public inside the palace. You need special permission to visit the palace.
