Lots of fun on this workout. I was looking into how the trailer would handle the diverse terrain of the semi muddy and rut filled Kettles trail on Whidbey Island. Seemed like a decent place to test this out which would not put much strain on the operating limitations of the Lectric XP Lite due to the single gear and 300 watt motor. One part of using the Lectric this time was to evaluate the battery usage during the off road travel and how the pedal assist would aid on climbing some of the hills without killing the 7.8 amp battery completely. Looks like assist level 1 drains at a modest enough rate as the voltage level drew down around 44 volts on one of the steeper hills, enough to prevent putting too much strain on the chain.
So far the trailer is definitely meeting the expectations after constructing it for long hauling on a bike trip. Apparently it is narrow enough to navigate its way through the trail barriers without many limitations so far. Will be determining how much of a load limit it will need to stay within.
Easy enough to clean everything up afterwards, little bit of chain cleaner and lots of rags.
