To attempt the assault course you need to select Lara's Home from the TR2 menu select screen. The assault course is right in front of you and the timer will only start as soon as you make your first jump.

Touching the sand or concrete walkways to the sides of the course will stop the timer and you will have to run back to the start to try again. (Except the sand at the end above the zip-line which I show in the video)

This run shows the path needed to make time and also shows that even with a few positional mistakes that the time is still possible.
