A routine court hearing in Martin County escalated on Wednesday morning when the suspect lunged toward a judge, allegedly attempting to attack him.

According to the Martin County Sheriff's Office (MCSO),46-year-old Evan Paul McCulloch unexpectedly lunged toward Judge Roby.

MCSO said that McCulloch also spat at the judge.
