In this short video I will show you 10 ways to use your yoga sandbag in a restorative yoga class to ease anxiety, depression, PMS, PTSD, menopause symptoms, restless leg syndrome and to help you breathe. Maybe you have seen sandbags but you have wondered how to use them? This guide to using yoga sandbags will show you how to use the sandbag prop in a restorative yoga class on different parts of your body in several different common restorative yoga postures. The benefits of using a weighted sandbag is that they work similarly to a weighted blanket. They simulate deep therapeutic touch, the kind of hands on pressure that relieves the anxiety, tension and stress that accumulates in our bodies. The weight causes the body to produce serotonin and endorphins which our body naturally creates to feel calm and relaxed.
