In this video, I'm joined by one of New Zealand's most charming and distinctive native birds - the Ruru (or Morepork).

These gorgeous and extra-cute little owls are known for their calls, which can often be heard at dusk and through the night. The call is said to sound like they're saying "More-Pork". They live in forests throughout New Zealand and the offshore islands.

This little guy came in after being hit by a car, but he's doing well and should make a full recovery.
