Why learning Tahitian language?

Did you know that thereʻs a movement surrounding the pacific islands?
This is an awakening movement for all the languages of the South Pacific that are dying.
This movement is to help SAVE, TEACH and LEARN the native languages.
With the resources to learn Tahitian, now a reality, we have the opportunity to bring natives and foreigners together for the good of the culture.
Without the language, the culture will die. Everything will die, we would not be able to write tahitian songs, or dance tahitian dance or to share stories, traditional customs and so on.
This is a serious problem that we are aware of and for that reason the only thing we can do to save this is to share by learning and teaching the language.
The ʻOri Tahiti which is the tahitian dance is well practiced all over the world but on the other hand the reo tahiti is not. The ʻOri Tahiti cannot exist without the language.
Today, i am interviewing someone who is passionate about the tahitian culture, the tahitian dance, the tahitian language and everything that revolves around the culture. This person is my husband, Steve Rivera, heʻs american, and he learned the tahitian language on his own and today he will share his perspective on the importance of learning Tahitian language. He will share his reasons, motivations and best advices to all the ones who are passionate about the Tahitian Culture.
