In this episode of my Super Mario 64 Star Guide, we’re collecting “Shell Shreddin’ for Red Coins” in Snowman’s Land (Course 10). Easily one of the most radical star names in Super Mario 64, this one is all about managing the Koopa shell and not losing it at the wrong time.

The challenge here isn’t just finding the red coins—it’s keeping the shell long enough to reach all of them. While some coins can technically be reached on foot with clever movement, a few of them—especially the ones tucked beneath the Bully platform—are effectively impossible to grab without the shell.

I also touch on which sections can be done without the shell, in case you lose it and want to experiment, but the safest approach is treating this star like a single uninterrupted route.

Once all eight red coins are collected, the star spawns nearby—and I even try grabbing it without dismounting the shell, just for fun.
