Prostatitis is a condition where there is inflammation of the prostate or peri prostatic tissues. Usually patients are in middle age group or elderly most commonly presenting with symptoms of prostatitis . Usually they come with difficulty in passing urine which is called dysuria or decreased urinary stream or nocturia. Some patient may present with blood in the urine usually patients who are presenting acute symptoms like with fever, chills there is a chance that it can be caused by bacterial prostatitis. There are few conditions which can be caused non-bacterial also. So whenever a patient present to us suspected to be prostatitis we us the cause what could be the cause like it is bacterial or non-bacterial by doing basic investigations like ultrasonography, protein urinary investigations. When root cause is ruled out either it can be bacterial or non-bacterial then we'll treat him accordingly. Few patients who have prostate conditions like BPH or stricture urethra these patient may need surgery to correct the problem.
