A Russian Air Force aerobatic pilot from the elite Russian Knights team has paid an emotional tribute to Wing Commander Namansh Syal, the IAF pilot who died after his Tejas fighter jet crashed during a low-altitude manoeuvre at the Dubai Airshow 2025. In a heartfelt note posted on his Telegram channel, the Russian pilot described the “difficult” atmosphere at the airfield after the crash and said their team continued flying in honour of their “brothers who did not return from their final flight.” The Tejas Mark-1 jet erupted into a fireball after failing to recover from a negative-G manoeuvre. The IAF has ordered a Court of Inquiry into the accident.
