Charming Charukesi:

Raga Charukesi, known for evoking feelings of tranquility, peace, devotion, and sorrow all at once, has been used widely across classic and contemporary music in India. This medley showcases the full spectrum of compositions in a modern Carnatic concert, starting with a tanam and weaving into a varnam, submain, main, thukada, and thillana. The brothers have blended the compositions using unique improvisations and transitions, and have used the dual violin to create a seamless harmony. The compositions presented span 5 composers and 5 languages, and are as follows:

0:00 Alaap
1:02 “Innam en Manam” (Varnam) | Composer: Sri Lalgudi Jayaraman (1:02)
2:18 “Samanyavalla” | Composer: Sri Purandaradasa (2:18)
2:54 “Adamodi Galade” | Composer: Saint Thyagaraja (2:54)
3:46 “Kripaya Palaya” | Composer: Maharaja Swati Thirunal (3:46)
