Hawksbill Sea Turtle Conservation | Koh Talu Island - Thailand

Описание к видео Hawksbill Sea Turtle Conservation | Koh Talu Island - Thailand

While vacationing on the island of Koh Talu Island in Thailand, we had the opportunity to visit the Siam Marine Conservation and Research Center.

Several times each year, marine biologists monitor certain sections of the island's beaches at night for sea turtles swimming ashore to lay their eggs. These eggs are then collected, hatched, and raised until the sea turtles are old enough to be released back in to the wild.

In the video, there were recently hatched sea turtles held in separate tanks from the older sea turtles. We helped clean the backs of the older sea turtles (about 1 to 2 years old) with brushes, and then moved them to an adjacent tank that had been previously cleaned and filled with fresh water.
