In September 2019, the Miraikan National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation in Japan hosted a talk session, "Imagination & Science: Imagining the future with AI."

Using the critically acclaimed game "Detroit: Become Human" as a starting point for discussion and theorisation, the speakers, David Cage (CEO of Quantic Dream,) Yoichiro Miyake (Lead AI Researcher, Square Enix,) and Dr. Hirotaka Osawa (Faculty of Engineering, Information and Systems, University of Tsukuba), share their thoughts about a future featuring artificial intelligence.

In the final episode, the speakers take a step back to examine their roles as creators. What manner of impact can imagining the future, have on that future? When does science-fiction become science-fact? What is the relationship between fictional works and real-life innovation?
