Today I'll be your guide to the usage and care of your Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Duo.

First it's important to note winding and setting conventions. Your watch is a manually winding time piece with a power reserve of 42 hours that can be re-energized by turning the crown clockwise in this position flush to the case. Turn the crown until you feel light resistance. At this point the watch is fully energized. Do not turn beyond this point as it can damage the movement via over-winding.

It's also important to note that in the second position the watch can be set. Setting in the second position will alter the time on both dials, reference time and local time. To set the reference time independently of the local time the silver dial, the front dial is your local time, the reverse side with blue Clous de Paris is your reference time because it features a 24-hour distinction at 6 o'clock. The trigger on the case flank is used to adjust the reference time in one-hour increments.

With respect to water resistance, this time piece is rated to 3 atm or 30m of hermiticity. The manufacturer advises that this is sufficient for exposure to splashes and rain only. The watch should not be submerged or used for bathing of any kind. However, it's also important to note that leather straps being porous natural material, should not be exposed to any level of moisture, splash, rain, or otherwise, as this can rapidly degrade the composition of the leather itself. When the watch is wet or there is water visible on any part of the watch it's important not to operate the crown either in its winding or time-setting functions. Moreover, the actuator for the reference time zone should not be actuated when there is water on it as this can bypass the seals of the case and result in significant damage to the movement as well as the dial.

Jaeger-LeCoultre also advises that in addition to being careful around water and moisture, take head in the presence of speakers, refrigerator doors, high-powered wiring looms, and professional magnetic resonance imaging equipment as this can magnetize the metallic hair spring of the movement. Should you suspect that your watch has become magnetized because it's running at outrageous rates take it to an authorized service center, either an authorized independent dealer, a factory boutique, or a factory designated service center where specialized equipment is available to demagnetize your watch and restore its timing performance.

With respect to mechanical service, the manufacturer advises every two years to service the mechanical movement. The parts will be cleaned, re-lubricated, and regulated. Above all, only engage authorized service centers, independent retailers, and factory boutiques to service your time piece as these agencies alone have the trained personnel, specialized equipment, and original factory replacement parts for your Reverso.
