You may need to find an exact match of the color type for a logo or some other graphic element. The best way to do this is to capture the color on screen and then use a graphics program that allows you to match the color.

In this tutorial, learn how to match colors using the eye dropper (color picker) in popular software applications such as Photoshop, Snagit or PowerPoint. These programs will provide you with the color number that you can use in any system to identify the color you are seeking to match.

You will either have an RGB number (R= Red, G= Green and B= Blue) The combination of these three numbers displays the color associated with it.

Some software applications provides another number known as the hex or hexadecimal which is a series of characters preceded by a pound (#) sign. If you enter this code in the system, it also provides the same number as the RGB number.

Two common numbers that you may be interested in using is Black and White.

Black - R = 000 G = 000 B = 000
White - R = 255 G = 255 B = 255
