A day in Zarcero, Costa Rica

On the highland highway going from San José to the touristy La Fortuna lies the scenic village of Zarcero. Sitting higher than a mile above the sea level, Zarcero is a charm. What a nice and quiet place for drivers to take a pit stop and relax! Downtown Zarcero looks like cut specifically for Instagram with the beautiful topiary garden full of cypress sculpting and the church on the hill - Iglesia de San Rafael. Air is fresh and cool because of the brisk mountain climate, lavish rolling hills surround the village, there's a plenty of shops and cafés in the area to sit down and watch local life.
