Hollókő with Willie: The Legend of Ravenstone Castle (Bonus: Palóc Village!)

I'm so excited to share this episode with you. It features one of the most fantastic places in all of Hungary: Hollókő. Hollókő has one of the coolest names of any town around: ravenstone. And in this episode we explore the legend of how the castle got it's name by heading back all the way to the 13th century. After a jaunt around the castle grounds we head out to the God's Hand lookout point for a mesmerizing view of the surrounding Cserhát mountains, before ambling down into the old village to sample cheese, honey and wine while gallivanting through the cobblestone streets of an UNESCO world heritage site. Big shout out to the Palóc people! I dedicate this episode to you. It's so great that there are still groups preserving the ancient traditions and heritage of their lands.
